▶Meet your physicians

Two licensed doctors, one practice.

Your care at Pure Body Health is provided by Dr. Sarah Stone, ND (AZ Naturopathic License #15-1496) and Dr. Scott Maymon, ND, MPH (AZ Naturopathic License #15-1497), licensed naturopathic medical doctors (NMDs) who completed four-year doctoral training at the accredited Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University) (now Sonoran University) in Tempe and have cared for the Valley since 2015, a combined 20+ years of experience. Arizona licenses and regulates naturopathic physicians, so this is not an unlicensed coach or an online practitioner. It is a licensed doctor, trained in both conventional medical diagnostics and natural therapies, with a license number you can look up. That combination is the whole point of how we practice.

Dr. Sarah Stone, ND. Root-cause care, built around you.

Dr. Sarah Stone is a licensed naturopathic medical doctor who has cared for the Valley since 2015 and partners with patients to treat the root cause rather than chase the symptom. Her focus spans hormones, autoimmune and GI concerns, regenerative therapies, mental and mood health, and whole-person wellness, with care tailored to each patient rather than a fixed protocol. She earned her naturopathic doctorate at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University) (now Sonoran University) in Tempe, following a B.S. in Psychology from the University of South Florida, and holds Arizona Naturopathic License #15-1496.

▶Our approach

Root cause, not just the symptom.

Most of what we do starts with the same question: what is actually driving this? A symptom is a signal, and quieting it has its place, but on its own it leaves the source untouched. Whole-person care means looking at your history, physiology, lifestyle, and environment together, then building a plan aimed at the root rather than the loudest symptom.

▶Trained in both worlds

Conventional diagnostics, natural therapies.

The reason a genuine root-cause approach is possible here is that our physicians are trained on both sides, so they can tell what responds well to natural, root-cause care and what belongs in conventional or emergency care.

Testing that actually fits Rather than a default panel, a physician orders targeted testing where it will genuinely inform the plan, and reads it in the context of your whole history. Diagnostics are a tool for understanding the cause, not a box to tick.

Natural therapies, used well Clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, lifestyle support, and the clinic's regenerative and hormone care are chosen to fit the person and the cause. We use the minimum needed to help rather than a fixed protocol, and we do not oversell any single therapy.

▶What to expect

Becoming a patient.

Botanical medicine and natural therapies used at a South Tempe, AZ clinic

01

An in-depth first visit

Your physician asks about your symptoms, medical and family history, lifestyle, diet, and environment, and takes the time a short conventional visit cannot. Bring your current medications and any recent labs; this is where the whole picture comes together.

02

Testing and an individualized plan

Where it will actually inform the plan, a physician orders targeted testing rather than a default panel. From there you get a plan built around the root cause, using the least invasive options that fit rather than a fixed protocol.

03

Coordinated specialty care

When your care calls for a specialist, advanced imaging, or emergency treatment, we'll guide you to the right resource and coordinate with those providers so nothing falls through the cracks. Any change to a prescribed medication is made thoughtfully, with the prescriber.

04

Follow-up and adjustment

We review how you respond and refine the plan. If something is working, we build on it; if it is not, we rethink it, and where specialty or emergency care is the right next step, we'll guide you there and coordinate it. Steady, honest follow-up is the point, not an upsell.

▶Why Pure Body Health

A licensed clinic that treats you like a person.

There is a lot of noise in natural health. Here is how we try to do it right:

Licensed physicians.

Your care is led by two licensed naturopathic medical doctors with Arizona license numbers you can verify and 20+ years of combined experience, trained in both conventional diagnostics and natural therapies, not an unlicensed practitioner or an online program.

Time to be heard.

Whole-person care only works with time. Our visits are long enough to take a real history and understand the full picture, which is where root causes actually turn up.

Comprehensive Care. Thoughtfully Coordinated.

Your health is too important for fragmented care. We take a comprehensive view of your health, integrating preventive medicine, lifestyle optimization, advanced diagnostics, evidence-informed therapies, and prescription medications when appropriate. When specialized or emergency care is needed, we'll guide you to the right resources and coordinate your care so you get the right care at the right time.

Evidence-Informed. Honest. Personalized.

Our recommendations are grounded in the best available scientific evidence, informed by clinical experience, and tailored to your unique goals and health history. We believe in honest conversations about the potential benefits, risks, and limitations of every treatment. If a therapy isn't the right choice, or another approach is likely to serve you better, we'll tell you. Our commitment is to provide thoughtful, transparent recommendations that put your health first.

Excellent experience every visit. Lab work done onsite, excellent customer experience from start to finish and Dr. Scott Maymon takes good care and time with his patients. I could not be more pleased with the care I am receiving and look forward to improving my health concerns.

★★★★★★★★★★

I came in with issues around just feeling brittle. In my 30’s, I couldn’t work out without injuring myself. Dr. Maymon helped me find deficiencies in my health such as low T and high toxicity in mycotoxins/mold and put me on a path to allow my body to fix these problems. In the middle of my treatment, I injured my L5 really bad where I couldn’t get out of bed for about a week. Dr. Maymon was able to help me in conjunction with my Gonstead Chiropractor to heal the injury and get me back on my feet utilizing prolozone therapy and peptides. I’m still recovering from this injury but the treatments have made my acute symptoms start to turn quickly into health. I should add that he also coached me through different therapies I could pursue and discussed which ones I would get the most bang for my buck. Through all of this, Dr. Maymon always takes plenty of time to review every last detail. Appointments are never rushed and many times I spend at least an hour with Dr. Maymon at each visit. I look forward to continuing treatment with his office and maintaining good health into the future. Thanks!

My experience with Dr. Stone has been exceptional. Her commitment to a holistic and personalized approach ensures a deep understanding of my health. She develops comprehensive, tailored plans that genuinely support my long-term well-being and health goals. I greatly value this thorough and empowering care.

▶FAQ

About the practice, answered honestly.

Where is Pure Body Health located?

Pure Body Health is in South Tempe at 1553 W Todd Drive, Suite 106, Tempe, AZ 85283, just off I-10 at Elliot Road on South Priest Drive. Patients come from across the Phoenix metro and East Valley. Ahwatukee Foothills is roughly twelve minutes away, Chandler about twenty, Mesa about twenty-two, Gilbert about twenty-four, and Scottsdale and Phoenix about twenty-five each in typical Valley traffic.

Are naturopathic doctors real doctors in Arizona?

Yes. Arizona licenses and regulates naturopathic medical doctors (NMDs), and in Arizona the titles ND and NMD mean the same thing. Dr. Sarah Stone, ND and Dr. Scott Maymon, ND, MPH completed four-year doctoral training at the accredited Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University) (now Sonoran University) in Tempe and hold Arizona naturopathic licenses you can verify (#15-1496 and #15-1497). They are trained in both conventional medical diagnostics and natural therapies, not unlicensed coaches or online practitioners.

Can Pure Body Health be my primary healthcare provider?

Yes. Many of our patients choose Pure Body Health as their primary medical practice for preventive care, acute concerns, chronic disease management, hormone optimization, and long-term health planning. Our physicians combine evidence-based conventional medicine with advanced, personalized approaches to help you reach your health goals. When specialty care or emergency treatment is needed, we'll guide you to the appropriate level of care and work collaboratively so your care stays well coordinated. Our priority is simple: helping you receive the right care, at the right time, for your unique needs.

What conditions and concerns do you help with?

People come to us for primary and preventive care, and for root-cause, whole-person care across hormones, thyroid and adrenal health, gut and digestive issues, autoimmune and chronic conditions, fatigue, weight, mental and mood health, men's and women's health, environmental and mold-related illness, and regenerative and aesthetic care. We evaluate the contributors and build an individualized plan rather than promising a fix for any single diagnosis, and where conventional care is the better path, that is what a physician will tell you.

Do you take insurance?

Naturopathic and many of our services are often not covered by insurance, though some plans cover certain testing, and it is worth checking with your insurer. Because plans are individualized, costs are discussed with you before anything is scheduled. If budget matters, tell us and we will be straightforward about priorities and options.

What should I expect at a first visit?

Your first visit is a thorough conversation, not a rushed appointment. A physician takes a full history, reviews any prior records and labs, and orders testing that actually fits your situation. From there you get an individualized, root-cause plan and honest expectations about what it can and cannot do. Follow-up is about adjusting the plan to how you respond, not selling you add-ons.

Do you see patients from across the Phoenix metro?

Yes. South Tempe is our home base and patients travel to us from Ahwatukee, Chandler, Mesa, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Phoenix. The clinic is easy to reach just off I-10 at Elliot Road on South Priest Drive. Patients from out of state and outside the U.S. are welcome too, so reach out and we can talk through your options.

How do I book an appointment?

You can request an appointment through the contact form on this site or call the clinic at (480) 427-0442. You do not need a diagnosis or a referral to start; the most useful first step is a consultation so a physician can map the options for your situation.
