What it is

AquaFirme XS is a needle-free facial that cleanses, exfoliates, hydrates and nourishes the skin in one visit using two handpieces. EVO, which lifts debris out of the pores with conical extraction and micro-cupping, and EXO2, which uses vibrating massage to drive serums in and stimulate circulation.

▶What it is

Dull skin isn't always a skincare problem.

Aesthetic care here sits under Dr. Sarah Stone, ND (AZ Naturopathic License #15-1496), whose focus is aesthetics, regenerative therapies and hormones, alongside Dr. Scott Maymon, ND, MPH (AZ Naturopathic License #15-1497). That matters less for the facial itself than for what surrounds it. Skin that is chronically dry, reactive, breaking out in adulthood or losing its tone can be doing that because of thyroid function, low ferritin, a hormone shift or a gut issue, and a spa has no way to look. We do. Nobody is going to promise you a facial fixes any of that. But you will be asked the questions.

The AquaFirme XS handpiece being prepared for a hydrating facial treatment in South Tempe, AZ

▶How it works

Two handpieces, one appointment.

AquaFirme XS is a hydradermabrasion facial, a treatment that cleans the skin out and puts hydration back in, mechanically, in a single pass through four steps. Cleanse, exfoliate, extract, infuse. Nothing punctures the skin, nothing is left to peel, and nothing is numbed.

The system splits the work between two tools. EVO uses conical extraction combined with micro-cupping to lift oil, debris and dead cells out of the pores; it is the part of the treatment doing the actual clearing. EXO2 follows with vibrating massage that works serums into skin that has just been cleared, and stimulates circulation in the area while it does.

Splitting extraction and infusion into two dedicated steps is the design choice that separates this system from single-tip devices that try to do both at once. Whether you can feel that difference in the chair is arguable. What is not arguable is that it is comfortable, it takes about forty-five minutes, and you can have it done at lunchtime and go back to work.

It is used on the face, the neck and the décolleté, and it is genuinely good at what it targets. It is not a treatment for wrinkles, laxity or scarring, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. Those need something that works below the surface, and we offer those too.

A hydrating facial is maintenance, not correction. It will make your skin look and feel better for a few weeks. It will not soften a wrinkle or tighten loose skin, and any clinic telling you otherwise is selling a package.

▶The menu

Where AquaFirme XS fits.

It is the lightest thing we offer, which is exactly why it gets used the way it does, as an entry point for people who aren't ready for needles, and as the maintenance layer between treatments that are.

The face

The standard treatment and the most common booking. Cleansing, extraction and infusion across the whole face in about forty-five minutes, aimed at congestion, dehydration and dullness. Most people notice the difference the same day, and it is at its best a day or two later.

Neck and décolleté

Two areas that show age early and get skipped almost universally, partly because they tolerate aggressive treatments poorly. A hydrating facial has no such problem; nothing punctures the skin, so the same protocol extends comfortably to the neck and chest.

Before an event

The reason a lot of people book their first one. Skin looks clearer and reads brighter within a day, with no risk of arriving anywhere red or peeling. Book it about a week out rather than the day before, so any transient flush has settled and your skin is at its best.

Between heavier treatments

Microneedling, PRX-T33 and Scarlet RF all work below the surface and need recovery time between sessions. A hydrating facial fits in the gaps and keeps the skin comfortable through a course, without interfering with what the other treatments are doing.

Scalp and hair

There is a scalp protocol in the AquaFirme range, and scalp health is one component of a hair plan rather than a treatment for hair loss on its own. If thinning is the actual concern, start at hair loss treatments, where a physician looks for the cause first.

Not sure this is the one?

If the concern is texture, pores or acne scarring, see microneedling. If it's tone and fine lines, see PRX-T33. If it's laxity and tightening, see Scarlet RF. Your consultation points you at the right one, not the one you happened to read about. Which treatment and which areas suit you is determined by a provider at consultation.

▶The comparison

How it differs from a HydraFacial®.

The short version: they are the same category of treatment, they follow the same four steps, and for most people the result is broadly comparable. The hardware differs. Anyone telling you one is dramatically better than the other is overselling, so here is the honest breakdown.

A HydraFacial®

The best-known device in the category, and the reason most people know hydradermabrasion exists at all. It uses a spiral vortex tip that loosens debris and delivers serum in the same pass. Widely available, heavily marketed, and generally the most expensive option in a given market because of the brand.

AquaFirme XS

Same four steps, different engineering. Extraction and infusion are separated into two purpose-built handpieces. EVO for conical extraction with micro-cupping, EXO2 for vibrating serum infusion. Less well known, which usually means less brand premium attached to the price.

Where there's no real difference

Both are comfortable, both take roughly the same time, neither has downtime, and neither will do anything for wrinkles or laxity. If you have had one and liked it, you will very likely like the other. This is not a decision worth agonizing over.

▶Why here, specifically

Dry air is the local variable.

In the Valley the limiting factor for most skin is water loss, not product. Chronically low humidity pulls moisture out of the skin faster than it can be replaced, which is why skin here reads tighter, rougher and finer-lined than the same skin would in a wetter climate, and why so many people cycle through expensive moisturizers without much changing.

That is the specific complaint a hydrating facial is built for. Clearing congestion and then driving hydration into freshly cleared skin does more for dry-climate dullness than another exfoliating treatment does, because the problem was never that there was too much on the surface.

The other Arizona factor is scheduling. Peels and lasers leave skin photosensitive and get pushed into the cooler months for that reason. A hydrating facial carries no such restriction, so it is one of the few treatments that works as well in July as in January. Daily broad-spectrum SPF still matters here more than almost anywhere, and we will be specific about that at your visit.

▶Honest expectations

What it does, and what it can't.

Facials are the most oversold treatment in aesthetics, and the language around them is close to meaningless. Here is what this one actually delivers, and where it stops.

What it's good at

Clearing congested pores and blackheads, relieving the tight, dehydrated feeling, softening flakiness, and making skin look clearer and more even quickly. The change is visible the same day and usually best a day or two later. It is a real, reliable improvement in the condition of the surface, which is not a small thing, it is just a specific thing.

Where it stops, and how long it holds

It will not soften an established wrinkle, tighten loose skin, or resurface acne scarring, because it does not work below the surface. The effect is temporary: expect a few weeks, not months, which is why it is repeated on a cadence rather than bought once. Hydradermabrasion facials are commonly repeated about monthly, roughly tracking the skin's turnover cycle.

AquaFirme XS supports the appearance, hydration and comfort of the skin for appropriate candidates; results are temporary and maintenance-based, it is not a treatment for any medical skin condition, and it is not a substitute for surgical correction.

▶What to expect

Four steps, about forty-five minutes.

01

A read on your skin

Before anything is switched on, someone looks at what your skin is actually doing and asks what you have been using on it. If the pattern suggests something other than a surface problem, sudden dryness, adult acne along the jaw, skin that has changed quickly; that is worth a conversation with a physician, and you are in the right building for it.

02

Cleanse and exfoliate

The skin is cleansed thoroughly and exfoliated to loosen the dead surface layer so extraction can actually reach the pores. Nothing is numbed, because nothing about this is painful, most people describe it as a cool, slightly odd suction sensation and nothing more.

03

EVO extraction, then EXO2 infusion

The EVO handpiece works across the treatment area, lifting oil and debris out of the pores with conical extraction and micro-cupping. EXO2 then follows with vibrating massage, working serums into skin that has just been cleared and stimulating circulation as it goes.

04

Out the door, and an honest word on cadence

No recovery, no aftercare beyond sun protection, and makeup the same day if you want it. Before you leave you get a straight answer on whether repeating this is worth your money, and whether something else would serve you better. Sometimes the answer is that once was enough.

An honest word on facials

A facial supports the appearance, hydration and comfort of your skin. It is not a treatment for a medical skin condition. Persistent acne, rosacea, eczema, unexplained flushing, or a mole or lesion that has changed need a clinical assessment rather than a hydrating treatment, so say something at your visit if any of that applies to you.

AquaFirme XS is not for everyone. We do not treat over active skin infection, open lesions or recently sunburned skin. Active inflammatory conditions in the treatment area, very reactive skin, recent isotretinoin use and recent resurfacing or injectable treatment are assessed individually, and timing relative to other treatments matters. Results are temporary and maintenance-based.

▶Why Pure Body Health

A doctor's office, not a spa menu.

You can get a good hydrating facial in a lot of places in the East Valley. Here is what is different about getting it here:

Someone can check why.

Chronic dryness, adult acne and skin that has changed quickly can track back to thyroid, ferritin, hormones or gut function. A spa has no way to look into that. Two licensed naturopathic physicians do. (Rather than: "your skin just needs hydration.")

Told plainly when once is enough.

This is maintenance, and maintenance suits some people and not others. You will get a straight answer about whether a cadence is worth your money before anyone books you one. (Rather than: a package sold at the front desk.)

Five treatments, one recommendation.

We also offer microneedling, PRX-T33, Scarlet RF and PRP. Because we own the alternatives, we can tell you when a facial is the wrong tool for what is bothering you. (Rather than: one device, sold as the answer.)

Specific about what it can't do.

It clears congestion and rehydrates. It does not touch wrinkles, laxity or scarring, and this page says so in plain terms rather than burying it. (Rather than: "glow, radiance, renewal.")

▶Next step

Start with the free consultation.

Cost depends on whether you're treating the face alone or adding the neck and décolleté, and on whether you want a single visit or a regular cadence. Because this is maintenance rather than a one-time correction, the number worth knowing is what a year looks like, and we'll go through that with you before anything is booked. No obligation.

▶FAQ

AquaFirme XS, answered.

What is the AquaFirme XS facial?

AquaFirme XS is a needle-free facial that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, hydrates and nourishes the skin in a single visit using two handpieces. EVO lifts debris out of the pores using conical extraction combined with micro-cupping, and EXO2 uses vibrating massage to help serums absorb and to stimulate circulation. It is used on the face, neck and décolleté, it is comfortable enough that no numbing is needed, and there is no recovery period afterward.

What's the difference between AquaFirme XS and a HydraFacial®?

Both are hydradermabrasion facials that follow the same sequence, cleanse, exfoliate, extract, infuse, and for most people the experience and the result are broadly comparable. The difference is the hardware: HydraFacial uses a spiral vortex tip that cleans and infuses in one pass, while AquaFirme XS splits the work between two handpieces, using conical extraction with micro-cupping first and a separate vibrating infusion step second. Anyone telling you one is dramatically better than the other is overselling. The more useful difference is where you have it done and who is in the room.

How much does an AquaFirme facial cost in South Tempe?

Cost depends on whether you're treating the face alone or adding the neck and décolleté, and on whether you're booking a single visit or a maintenance cadence. Because this is a maintenance treatment rather than a one-time correction, the figure worth knowing is what a year of it looks like, not what one appointment costs. We review that with you at your free consultation, before anything is booked.

How often should I get an AquaFirme facial?

Hydradermabrasion facials are commonly repeated about once a month, which roughly tracks the skin's turnover cycle, though plenty of people book them occasionally before events instead and get real value from that. The honest answer is that the right cadence depends on your skin, your budget and what you're trying to hold onto. We'd rather tell you that once was enough than sell you a package you don't need.

Is there any downtime after AquaFirme XS?

No; nothing punctures the skin and nothing is left to peel, so there's no recovery period and most people go straight back to their day, makeup included. Some people notice mild transient redness or a warm flush for an hour or so, particularly if extraction was thorough. If you have very reactive skin, tell your provider beforehand so the treatment can be adjusted.

What skin concerns does AquaFirme XS help with?

It's aimed at dehydration, dullness, congested pores, blackheads, flakiness and skin that feels tight or rough, the surface complaints. It is genuinely good at those and at making skin look better quickly. What it will not do is soften an established wrinkle, tighten loose skin, or resurface acne scarring, because those need treatments that work below the surface. If that's what's bothering you, microneedling, PRX-T33 or Scarlet RF are the honest answers.

What are the EVO and EXO2 handpieces?

They're the two tools the AquaFirme XS system uses, and they do different jobs. EVO combines conical extraction with micro-cupping to lift debris, oil and dead cells out of the pores. EXO2 then uses vibrating massage to work serums into the freshly cleared skin and to stimulate circulation in the area. Splitting extraction and infusion into two dedicated steps is the design choice that distinguishes this system from single-tip devices.

Can AquaFirme XS be used on the scalp for hair?

There is a scalp protocol in the AquaFirme range, and scalp health is one part of a broader hair plan rather than a treatment for hair loss on its own. If thinning hair is your actual concern, the right starting point is our hair loss treatments page, where a physician looks for the cause first, thyroid, ferritin, hormones and pattern loss all look similar in the mirror and need different treatment. Ask at your consultation whether the scalp protocol is the right addition for you.

Can I combine it with microneedling or PRX-T33?

They're commonly sequenced rather than performed at the same appointment, and the order and spacing matter. Freshly needled or acid-treated skin shouldn't be extracted or worked on aggressively, so a hydrating facial usually sits between the heavier treatments rather than alongside them. Your provider will set the sequence at consultation based on what you're having done and how your skin responds.
